I for one would be opposed to turning the list into a newsgroup;
I don't get news, only mail.

There is really not that much traffic on this list, compared to some
others that I get.  One thing some lists do is to "digest" a bunch
of messages and send them out once a day or so as a single message.
Presumably software exists on the net that will do this automatically.

Also, I think it is right for Kevin to try to keep the discussions
focussed on cryonics.  There is a libertarian list for people who
want to argue politics along those lines.

[ A digest format sounds useful for those days in which more than one
  cryonics message arrives.  I'm too swamped with work to implement that
  right now but after I return from my extra-long-Labor-Day-weekend-vacation
  I would like to do that.  Oh yes, the mailing list will go into that
  (dreaded) automatic mode while I am away.  Don't forget to put CRYONICS,
