+Russ Whitaker called from England saying that he had read about my 
offer of $10K for the U.K. facility.  This impressed me since my 
minutes won't reach my next door neighbors until tommorrow.  E-mail 
sure is nice.
 
Anyway, he convinced me to call Alcor to find out what they were 
doing with my offer.  I called Alcor and spoke to Alcor's president.  
In short, it turns out that Paul Wakfer has pretty much backed off 
his offer to lend money to people who want to give money to Alcor.  
He will only lend money for Alcor emergencies and currently nothing 
is classified as an Alcor emergency.  On the plus side, he has 
donated a considerable amount of money towards the U.K. facility and 
it looks like the facility is going to be saved.
 
Also, the Alcor Boston meeting will be on October 13th, not October 
6th.  I finally spoke directly to Linda and Fred Chamberlain and the 
second Sunday in October is much better for them than the first 
Sunday.  When I got their call it sounded like someone was calling 
from interstellar space, turns out they were using a car phone while 
driving in New York state.
 
I am not going to have a more exciting meeting than the one with the 
founders of Alcor.  If you are interested in attending this meeting, 
please let me know!
